Abstract The buckling “General Method” of EN 1993‐1‐1 and 1993‐1‐5 can be applied to solve problems characterized by non‐uniform geometries complex stress fields. A typical example occurs during the incremental launching bridge girders with slender web panel subjected patch loading.
